Beautiful 8 Year Old Boy Tortured and Murdered by his Parents Because He was a ‘Fag’

October 22, 2017

The 8 year old boy’s brother testified that on the day of the killing he watched his mother and her boyfriend beat the child bloody and dragged him into their bedroom before closing the door. He heard bangs and screams and then everything went quiet. The parents justified the actions because the child was a gay.

Because it still matters to a lot of people. Imagine, this 8-year-old effeminate child's life. This unspeakable abuse---from his mother and her boyfriend who could not imagine a fag in their house. Where could he turn? Hide? Go?

Fernandez's siblings testified last week in court that the child was forced to eat cat feces and kitty litter, spoiled food, and when he got sick from eating it, his own vomit. He was also bound and forced into a box for extended periods, pepper sprayed, and beaten daily.

They would shoot Fernandez with a BB gun in the face and groin, beat him with wire hangers and a belt buckle, pin him against the wall by the neck until he passed out, and once hit the child so hard it left an indentation of his head in the wall.

Ezequiel, Fernandez's brother, testified that on the day his brother was killed he watched his mother and her boyfriend beat the child bloody and drag him into their bedroom before closing the door. He heard bangs and screams and then everything went quiet.

When our Utah schools, institutions and communities tolerate and encourage a double standard for LGBTQ children and people, they help set the seeds. Those ideas grow in justifying hatred, prejudice and eventually violence.

The smug 'they' are different from ‘us’ attitude. That preaching that God doesn't love 'them' as much as ‘us'. The idea that 'they' should not be allowed to marry, that 'they' should not be protected from discrimination.

That sets a tone in a community. That hurts not only children like Fernandez, but all of us that yearn for a fair and just country that lives up to its ideals.
