In the Darkness, I See Only Mitt Romney
Mike Lee says of the Mueller Report, “I consider this to be, basically, the end of the road." Lee has no questions. Nothing wrong here--everyone back in the pool.
Clearly, Utah's GOP leadership are at peace with doing nothing on Mueller’s findings--except Romney.
No one else is budging--no matter how unhinged Trump becomes. The chilling effect of Trump’s war on the FBI, law enforcement, the judiciary, truth tellers and anyone not willing to boost his lunacy are taking its toll.
Utahns, whatever our frustrations, are we willing to throw away our national institutions, 'rule of law' and 'no one is above the law' ideals to feed this obviously flawed man?
So far, only one person has talked truth to his party. The thunder has been harsh and unanimous on Mitt Romney from Trump Inc. and those who blindly follow power (like Chris Stewart). Romney told the truth--and he is sticking with it. The pressure must be tremendous. Who knows, over the next two years, as America hangs by a thread, it may be Mitt who saves us.
“I am sickened at the extent and pervasiveness of dishonesty and misdirection by individuals in the highest office of the land, including the President,” Romney said. “I am also appalled that, among other things fellow citizens working in a campaign for president welcomed help from Russia.”
Romney blasted members of the Trump campaign for not informing law enforcement about Russia’s actions and went after former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort for “actively promoting Russian interests in the Ukraine.”
“Reading the report is a sobering revelation of how far we have strayed from the aspirations and principles of the founders,” Romney said.
