What Do Protestors Around The World Have in Common With People of Utah? Their Governments Just Ignore The Will Of The People. Without Fear of Retribution. Take Medicaid Expansion….

November 4, 2019

An outbreak of protestors all over the globe has three things in common with Utah's governance:

1) Government corrupted

2) Social inequality

3) Ineffective leadership

For example, the Utah Republican political machine has been contemptuous of accepting our state's share of Medicaid Expansion for six long years. Even after the people voted to accept the $850 million dollars a year, the political machine still said NO to Expansion.

The Legislature even passed a law that proclaimed that if the Trump Administration turned down their loopy 'Utah Way' waiver; then finally, Utah would take full Expansion. But when Trump said no to the waiver, even then, the political machine still said NO Expansion!

So, today there is no coverage for hundreds of thousands of working Utah families suffering with no affordable health care coverage. These people could be covered.

Guess what electeds--your smug ideological approach toward your neighbors is going to lead to a universal, single-payer coverage! When that happens, no bitching please. It was, after all, your rigidity that is going to make universal coverage a reality.

Leaders of political machines the world over: If you want peace, you must listen to the will of the people. It doesn’t matter if you are perpetuating outright sham elections--or clothing fake elections in the clothing of gerrymandering and voter suppression. It is the same.

There is a limit to the patience of the public. Even here in Utah.
